Before founding New Horizon, Chao-Ming Ying and Jeffrey Yu spent years implementing supply chain planning solutions for companies around the world. Across more than 100 implementations, they saw the same challenges repeatedly: lengthy projects, cumbersome systems, high support costs, and planning teams still relying on spreadsheets and manual workarounds.

New Horizon takes its name from NASA’s New Horizons space probe, which made its historic flyby of Pluto in 2015 — the same year our company was founded — and traveled on to the Kuiper Belt and beyond, farther than any spacecraft before it.

Chao-Ming has spent his career helping companies solve complex supply chain planning problems. After leading the global Oracle Supply Chain Planning consulting practice at Hitachi Consulting and working with Demantra and i2 Technologies, he saw an opportunity to build planning software differently.
At New Horizon, he leads the product and technology vision behind an AI Planning Suite designed to give planners advanced intelligence without unnecessary complexity. His goal is straightforward: help supply chain teams understand what’s happening, anticipate what comes next, and make better decisions with confidence.
Jeffrey Yu
Co-Founder and VP of Delivery
Jeffrey understands that the success of planning technology depends on more than its capabilities. It must also fit the customer’s business, earn the confidence of its users, and create value quickly.
Drawing on his experience at IBM and Hitachi Consulting, Jeffrey leads New Horizon’s delivery organization with a practical, collaborative approach. He works closely with customers to translate their planning requirements into an intuitive solution their teams can use every day — making implementation the beginning of a long-term partnership, rather than the end of a software project.
